My my my goodness….I got busy busy again *giggles*…..I should never be to busy to share….so by gollies the holidays are heading in, its time to really start sharing……that's a gift wrapped up in itself!
I suppose over the next couple weeks, before Turkey day :) I should share something's you can do with leftovers, and some things you can just always enjoy!
One of my favorite fall treats is cranberries, fresh ones…..I am not a cranberry canned sauce kinda person…..I love to get cranberries and cook them. I have actually had them so many times this fall, its kinda crazy LOL. When you cook cranberries, you just put then in a big pan of boiling water, and let them cook all up and add sugar to taste, its like a desert!!! One of the things I like to do with leftover cranberries is this. I am not a big drinker, but this does make a nice treat, while relaxing by the fireplace, on a cold winter day, with your leftover cranberries! AND you dont always have to serve it with bourbon, sometimes I will squeeze more fresh orange juice in and an extra spoon of cranberries and club soda, but this is the recipe for a late night fireplace curl up! The other way is a nice breakfast treat! Remember this is one you can experiment with, and mix it to how you like it!
Cranberry Cocktail!
Mash 1 orange wedge, 1 sugar cube, against bottom and sides of a 10-oz glass, I love to use either a brandy sifter, or an old fashioned pretty glass, that just makes it more fun! best thing to use, is a wooden spoon, or a muddler, you can get those at like Wal-Mart, small square wooden kitchen tool for smashing things up!
Fill glass with crushed ice, stir in 1/4 cup bourbon, 2 Tbsp. whole berry cranberry sauce, remember, your canned sauce will not work for this, and a splash of club soda, garnish with orange twist and fresh cranberries, serve NOW *GIGGLES
Hope everyone is having a sweet day!
